Spiritual Formation Bible Study: Book 2 – Ruth

This series of Spiritual Formation Bible Studies is designed to be extended times for us to immerse in God’s Word, dwell in Scripture long enough to inhabit the world that it describes. To live for a while in the world of God as recorded in Scripture, see God’s world come alive through the text, then see God’s kingdom as equally real and alive in our modern world.

Each course begins with an introduction to CSF’s approach and posture to receiving the Word of God. We immerse and inhabit the biblical text through the practice of lectio divina, silence, imagination, contemplation alongside with the study and analysis of the text and context of the bible passage.

Subsequent sessions will delve into each chapter of the Bible book. Participants are expected to read the entire book several times at their own time, as part of the discipline to cultivate a deeper immersion into God’s Word. Our time together will include silent reflection and sharing of your own personal spiritual formation with one another.
