And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. (Mark 6:31)

Hear an echo? The tension between work and rest is not unique to our time. How did Jesus and His disciples face it and resolve it? Today we dwell in Mark 6 to watch and observe what is going on, to ponder what might be a deeper message behind the scene, and to listen attentively to what the Lord may be saying to each of us.
